Speakers: Tristan Borland - director of Smile Again Ministry (mission of serving parents and children who have lost a child or sibling). He was the Riverview Church senior pastor in Pine River MN for 12 years and they have 7 children. In 2016 Tristan and Jill lost their 4 year old daughter but were fortunate to have a community that loved on them through this deep loss. He explained you never get over grief but you change and can find a healing. In general, our culture doesn't do well with death and dying.
In 2023 they resigned from their church and took over a retreat center for families that lost a child. Smile Again, based in Cross Lake MN, was founded in 2009 and focuses on the whole family.
