Speakers:
Today was a Club Meeting day. Adam Rees and Julie Anderholm updated the Club on our Club Foundation and the Club Board.
Julie Anderholm reminded us that our Club Foundation is a separate legal entity from our Club and from the Rotary International Foundation. The Club Foundation Board has 10 members. Their main fundraiser is the Reverse Raffle, which raised over $15,000.00 each of the last two years. We have 24 members that give to the Club Foundation quarterly with their club dues. We would love to see that number increase. Please see Heather Kelm if you would like to add a donation to your quarterly dues.
Adam Rees went through the Club Board Organizational Chart. Eric Charpentier is going to fill the role of New Generations Youth Chair on our Club Board. We will eventually need someone to fill the Club Service Chair role when Bradford relocates at the end of this year.
Adam also spoke about Rotary Fellowship Opportunities. This is a great way to make friends with Rotarians around the world that share your interests. If you're interested, please visit this
link. We also encourage all our members to give to the Rotary International Foundation. If you would like to donate online, please visit the
website here.
Club History from Paula Persons:
80 Years Ago (1944)
Witnessed by the largest crowd other than state tournament games, the Lions Club edged out the Rotarians 6-5 with a run in the seventh inning in the big charity softball game. Vic Bunt scored what looked like the tying run when he singled, then raced home on an overthrown ball at third. But, the ball rolled under a car, and the run was disallowed.
