Eusebio “Chappy” Rios, CRMC Chaplain, stopped by to share her life experiences and the philosophy of service.
Chappy spoke connecting Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self,” with her work as a military and hospital chaplain. After 33 years in the Air Force and 18 deployments, she continues to serve patients and families in oncology, palliative care, and hospice.
She described her calling as being “a chaplain to all and a pastor to a few”, offering spiritual care while respecting each person’s beliefs, including those who do not identify with a faith. Chappy has dedicated a life to the help and comfort of others: compassion means responding to another person’s need, across differences.
She closed with a reminder that service is often found in everyday acts of listening, companionship, and helping others feel seen and valued. Whether supporting a service member, a patient, or a grieving family, we can make a difference by standing beside people with dignity and compassion.

Rotary Socials - November 4th
The Club has brought back Rotary Socials! For Rotary Socials we are planning to have Rotarians represent our club and Rotary in general at Jack Pine’s Pints for a purpose events. The Next event is November 4th for the Crossing Arts Alliance. Plan for 4:30pm and a very informal gathering.
Women in Rotary: November 11th
A gathering is scheduled for November 11th from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the Caribou Coffee by Grizzlies to build connections among female members. There is no agenda set for the gathering, come ready to connect and enjoy good company!
