This Week at Rotary
Russ Strachan came to share his experiences and insights into the U.S. intelligence community. Russ has had a storied career spanning military service, NASA, the CIA, and extensive work on the Global Positioning System (GPS). Russ has been lending his experience and knowledge as a substitute teacher in the Brainerd Lakes Area, and will be teaching at the college level in the iron range for the 2027 school year.
Russ presented on the role intelligence has played throughout history, it's importance to the U.S. and it's interests, as well as sharing fascinating stories from events past the help shape geopolitics as we know it. He highlighted current information sharing practices between agencies, as well as their competitive nature, as well as the expanded use of misinformation in today's intelligence landscape.
