BRAINERD ROTARY

Reverse Raffle Dinner

On October 30, 2009 our Reverse Raffle dinner was held at Madden's on Gull Lake.

Ticket holders received a buffet dinner for two at Madden's Town Hall that evening and a chance to win $10,000 and other prizes.  Tickets for the reverse raffle were $120 and only 300 tickets are available.

Proceeds from the raffle go to the Brainerd Rotary Foundation and support Brainerd lakes area organizations focusing on children.

There was a silent auction and many other other prizes were given away randomly during the evening.  Prize Donors were Bernick's, Bremer Bank, Cashwise Liquor, Central Lakes College, Cragun's Resort, Craig Nathan, CTC, Cub Foods, D & D Distributing, Eagles Landing Golf, Fort Steak House, Imgrund Motors, Initiative Foundation, Johnson & Associates, Lake Country Journal, Landsburg landscape Nursery, madden's Resort, Merrill Lynch - Mick Roby, Northland Arboretum, Northway Construction, Peoples Bank, Prairie Bay, Quarterdeck Resort, Radco, Randy Moores, Ray and Gwen Gildow, Ross Hella and Esser's, Ruttger's Bay Lake Lodge, Sears and The Lodge Hotel.

Silent Auction Items included

Of the last five tickets, three were not at the event so the remaining two ticket owners were called to the stage.  It came down to one person standing on the stage and a ticket holder not at the event.  The final ticket was drawn and Rotarian Bill Blum, who was not at the event, became the winner of the entire $10,000.00.

The lucky winner Bill Blum was not at the event so MC Ray Gildow and event coordinator Jill Carlson Ferrie are shown here holding the winning ticket worth $10,000.00

Since it was the day before Halloween, Ruthie Gmeinder handmade a number of outfits for people who wandered through the crowd during the evening.

Brad Person received a hug during the evening.

The Esser's enjoyed a laugh and a treat of some candy.
