BRAINERD ROTARY

Taste of Tuscany

April 7, 2009

Rotarians brought guests and welcomed community members at “A Taste of Tuscany” Rotary Wine Tour on Tuesday, April 7th at The Red Roof Inn. Approx 135 tickets were sold, and as in years past, club members came through with some great silent and live auction items.

The evening was a casual night of networking, eating, drinking and merriment. Chef John Pulsifer and his team prepared delicious hors d'eouvres, salads, pasta dishes and desserts for all to sample, while the wait staff provided friendly, efficient service. Mark Dockendorf lined up the purveyors who sampled out wine, beer, scotch and cordials. Each purveyor kept the banter going with guests, adding their special flair of hospitality to the evening. Live Auction items included a Little Moran Hunting Trip, Wine Tasting & Hor d'eouvres from Cash Wise Liquor and Prairie Bay, and Carlos Creek Winery Trip hosted by Dennis & Jody Drummond, with transportation donated by Edgewood Vista. The silent auction items were scooped up by generous bidders, who hung (with good humor) in the balance of the never-ending Silent Auction closing.

Proceeds will go to The Brainerd Local Foundation, whose mission is to assist in providing financial support for youth activities in the Brainerd Lakes Area (specifically the ISD School District #181 area).
